Sophie has the dubious honour of being the society ‘dinosaur’ – her first production with the society was The Yeomen of the Guard waaaay back in 2012! She has previously served as Treasurer, Chair, and P&P, but swears she isn’t try to play committee-bingo… honest. Her favourite roles with the society have been as Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, and a female Pish-Tush in The Mikado. In her non-G&S life, she is currently completing a Masters in Music, studying Performance Practice with Peter Seymour.
Alasdair is a final year student reading Politics who has been a member of the society since joining York in September 2016. He has previously served on the committee as Secretary in 17/18 and was one of the Summer show directors last year. He has played a variety of roles whether they be bass, baritone, tenor and on occasion soprano… during rehearsals! He’s enjoyed playing the roles of Ko-Ko in the Mikado, Samuel in his final UoY G&S main show production as a student, the learned judge from Trial by Jury, Dick Deadeye from H.M.S. Pinafore, the Duke of Plaza-Toro from Gondoliers and the most challenging role of a noble peer from Iolanthe!
